We are in awe, though not surprised, by God's faithfulness in expanding our ministry. Today Deer Run Retreat has become a conduit for incredible life change for children, teenagers, and adults. Although many lives have been changed, the opportunity to reach even more has arrived! We are asking you to personally join us—to make a difference—as we address the critical need for expansion.

THE EXPANSION
Through much prayer and consideration, our board of directors has determined areas for growth and the need for a 36-month, $4.1 million capital campaign to fund this expansion. The expansion will more than double the number of children, teenagers, and families who can experience camp and retreats each year! It will also increase key facilities that our guests use to build relationships and spiritual growth. By giving, you step directly into the incredible stories of transformation happening every day at Deer Run Retreat.

Today's children and teenagers need to get away from the distractions of the world and experience God outdoors and through one-on-one relationships with others. The testimonies of salvation, hope, purpose, and restoration pouring from Deer Run Retreat's children and teen camps confirm that God is using camping and outdoor adventure as a powerful tool to generate positive change for thousands.

CAMPAIGN DETAILS
The targeted areas for growth at Deer Run Retreat allow us to provide facilities for recreation, retreats, and events in a larger capacity to families, schools and universities, community groups, churches, and ministries. The 36 month, $4.1 million capital campaign will fund expansion for the following areas:

• Buck Creek Lodge—to provide lodging for an additional 96 campers, families & groups; a worship and meeting room that accommodates 250; and an indoor recreation area
• The Creekside Meeting & Dining Facility expansion—to increase the seating capacity of the current facility by 120 campers
• A 45-foot climbing & rappelling tower (fulfilled)
• Seven family cabins & two staff cabins
• A paintball/airsoft recreation area (fulfilled)
• An open-air gymnasium/worship center—to provide a covered area for recreation on rainy days plus an open-air worship area for approximately 400 campers
• An in-ground swimming pool
• Necessary infrastructure supporting the expansion of the site plan

WHAT IS THIS CAMPAIGN ABOUT?
The Will You Make a Difference? Campaign is a comprehensive fund-raising effort being prayerfully and strategically undertaken by Deer Run Retreat to raise funds for the expansion of the impact of this ministry.

WHY IS EXPANSION NEEDED?
The planned expansion will more than double the number of children and teenagers who can experience camp each year! In addition, it will increase key facilities that families, schools and universities, community groups, churches and ministries use for for recreation, retreats, and events—all focused on building relationships and spiritual growth.

HOW MANY CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS WILL BE SERVED BY THIS EXPANSION, AND WHAT FACILITIES ARE INCLUDED?
With this expansion, Deer Run Retreat will be able to minister to more than 2,000 campers each summer! The expansion includes Buck Creek Lodge designed specifically for campers, groups, and families; expansion of The Creekside Dining & Meeting Facility; a climbing and rappelling tower; seven family cabins; two staff cabins; a paintball/airsoft recreation area; an open-air gymnasium for recreation and worship; an in-ground swimming pool; and necessary infrastructure supporting the expansion of the site plan.

WHY SHOULD I SUPPORT THIS CAMPAIGN?
Your support will unlock incredible ministry opportunities and connect you personally to the many ways God is using Deer Run Retreat to transform lives. Your one-time, or two- to three- year pledge to this campaign will make it possible to meet the critical demand for more camps, retreats, learning and ministry facilities that will minister to children, teenagers, and families for generations to come.

WHAT IS THE FUND-RAISING GOAL FOR THIS CAMPAIGN?
After careful consideration and conducting a thorough pre-campaign study, the board of directors prayerfully set a campaign goal of $4.1 million.

WHAT IS THE TIME LINE FOR THIS CAMPAIGN?
The goal to achieve necessary funds for this campaign is 36 months.

IS THIS CAMPAIGN FOR CASH GIFTS?
Cash gifts are much appreciated; however, a pledge over a two- or three-year period is preferred. This affords the opportunity to give beyond the level of a one-time gift. You may select the pledge period and payment schedule most convenient for you.

ARE THERE OTHER METHODS OF GIVING?
Yes, other methods of giving include:
• Appreciated marketable bonds and securities
• Real estate
• Charitable trusts and other estate-planning vehicles
• Bequests
• Gifts in-kind such as services or materials

IS MY GIFT TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
All gifts to the campaign are tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law. Deer Run Retreat is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

WHAT IS THE LONG-TERM VISION FOR DEER RUN, AND WILL IT REQUIRE FUND-RAISING IN THE FUTURE?
Upon completion of this expansion, the existing land space at Deer Run Retreat will almost be fully utilized. However, as God provides the need and the opportunity, we are confident that He will also provide additional land.
